Founded in Germany in 1982, Vossko expanded its operations due to its business success in the country. The city of Lages was chosen to host its new factory. Vossko do Brasil sells frozen chicken-based products, serving both domestic and international markets.

The Berneck family's great journey has reached our city after 70 years of history. With a privileged location within a gigantic pine forest, the company chose us to inaugurate its new factory, generating more than 600 direct jobs and 1,500 indirect jobs and an increase of 1,020,000 m³ in its production capacity.

In 1965, seven brothers believed in the potential they saw in the city of Lages and got together to form a company that is now the largest manufacturer of rolling stock in Latin America. It operates in the industry, trade, import and export of spare parts for crawler tractors. Today it has 38 stores and 2 distribution centers serving Brazil and the world.

Founded in 1996, it initially manufactured machines and saw blades for the timber industry. Today it has a 14,000 m² manufacturing plant and two separate companies. It manufactures narrow-profile saw blades, saws for cutting food, carpentry and wood. The technology applied to the production process positions Mill as one of the leading saw manufacturers in the market, standing out nationally in the segment.

Potenza Comércio e Fabricação de Equipamentos Hidráulicos, founded in 2010, specializes in the development of high-performance hydraulic equipment. It produces scrap and forestry grabs, cranes and hoists that serve the forestry, scrap and cargo handling sectors. In 2015, it achieved its international expansion, seeking markets such as the USA, consolidating its global presence.
J de Souza, exporting products to more than 20 countries.
A leader in the forestry and mechanical equipment segment. Specialized in the manufacture of machinery and equipment for the sector, the company is recognized for developing robust products aimed at industrial and forestry operations. In addition to the main factory in Lages, it has branches in Sete Lagoas (MG), Imperatriz (MA), and a test field in São José do Cerrito (SC), supplying products to more than 20 countries in the Americas, Africa and Europe.
Banco da Família, the largest microfinance institution in Latin America.
BF is a Microfinance Institution, formed by an association, registered as an OSCIP (Civil Society Organization of Public Interest). In 25 years, it has granted more than R$2.7 billion in credit, boosting business in more than 450,000 credit operations in more than 295 cities in Santa Catarina, Rio Grande do Sul and Paraná. Its mission is to "promote the improvement of Quality of Life, acting in microfinance as an agent of inclusion, development and social transformation". In 2018, MicroRate, an agency specialized in evaluating financial organizations, classified Banco da Família as the best microfinance operator in Latin America.

The Planalto Serrano Agricultural Cooperative (Cooperplan) began its activities in 1993 with 22 farmers and an administrative headquarters in Lages, initially having a storage capacity of six thousand tons of grain. Today, it has 322 member farmers and a storage capacity of 66 thousand tons.

Coopertropas, founded in April 2016, plays a significant role. The cooperative is dedicated to producing beef from early-maturing British breeds, raised exclusively on pasture. This rearing method results in tender and flavorful meat, ensuring food safety through a strict traceability system.
Coopertropas stands out for its commitment to animal welfare and sustainable practices. The animals are raised freely, with strict sanitary control and a natural diet, contributing to human health by offering meat rich in omega-3 fatty acids and carotenoids.
Additionally, the cooperative offers a variety of premium cuts, catering to the most demanding consumers.
Ambev, the largest beer company in Latin America.
Ambev established its unit in Lages in 1994 as part of a strategy to consolidate beer distribution in the southern region of Brazil. The choice of the city was motivated by its location in the Serra Catarinense, facilitating the supply to the states of Paraná, Santa Catarina, and Rio Grande do Sul. Additionally, the region offers suitable infrastructure, a skilled workforce, and high-quality water from the Caveiras River, which serves as the factoryʼs water source—factors essential for the operation of the plant.

In recent years, Ambev has invested in expanding the factory, allowing for the installation of new production lines, including 300ml returnable bottles, focusing on sustainability and innovation. With a capacity of over 6 million hectoliters per year, the company continues to invest in this location.
